Mental Health Mates

Monthly walks starting Saturday 4th March at 11am

Led by volunteer Lesley Quinn, the group will meet outside the Pavilion on the first Saturday of the month at 11am and all first-timers will be treated to a complimentary drink.

Mental Health Mates is a national initiative that was started by Daily Telegraph journalist, Bryony Gordon to provide the ‘we’ to those struggling alone with mental health issues. Taking place in a growing number of towns and cities, Mental Health Mates is a regular, peer-led meet up, where members can walk and talk without fear of judgement. Supported by the Sports Development team at Bedford Borough Council, the local MIND group and Ben Salmons from the #breakthestigma campaign, Bedford’s Mental Health Mates group is a really positive addition to existing treatment and therapies.

More information can be found on the Mental Health Mates Facebook group and you can follow Bryony on twitter @bryony_gordon. Follow Ben Salmons @LetsBreakStigma and Just Turn Up [@youjustturnup][3]
